The Harrow Half is BACK!

In the immediate aftermath of last year’s inaugural race, we were naturally pleased to get a lot of positive feedback on social media:

“Had a great time. Great atmosphere and feel!!”

“Superb support on the road”

“Excellent race. Well organised. Great vibe at the start/finish”

However, we have not rested on our laurels; not everything went as well as we’d hoped. So, we listened to all the feedback and sought comments from all stakeholders including Harrow Council, residents, volunteers, marshals and the runners themselves. We know that there are improvements we can make this year.

Principally, we’ve simplified the route and incorporated more of the parts of the course you said you enjoyed. We will still start and finish in the grounds of Harrow School but will go out as well as back through St Ann’s shopping precinct and Harrow Recreation Ground. There will also be more stretches of the course where runners will pass each other going in different directions.

Keeping runners safe is a big priority and these changes will also help us reduce the disruption to traffic and lessen the frustration some residents felt on the day. Details will follow in due course.

We can also reassure runners that there will be mile markers this year and we will look carefully at where the water stations are placed and how they operate.

Finally, as you can see from our website, we have a new logo and look.  This design will feature across our social media too and on all of our publicity material. There’ll be more content, including news and advice. It’s part of our commitment to make the Harrow Half, incorporating the Sir Roger Bannister Family Mile, a stand out community sporting event. We aim to appeal to everyone whether you’re a regular runner, raising money for charity or simply taking up a personal challenge. You’re all welcome to sign up.
